Official Contest Rules for Mix 96.7 CHYR.
PLEASE NOTE: Prizes can only be redeemed at our Windsor location: Blackburn Media Inc., 2090 Wyandotte Street East, Windsor, ON N8Y 5B2. Winners will be contacted and prize pick-ups will be made by appointment only.
How to Enter Daily Contests
All CHYR contests are open to legal residents of Southwestern Ontario within Blackburn Media Inc.'s licensed listening area for Mix 96.7 CHYR-FM. To enter on-air contests, entrants must call (519) 944-2497 and follow the specific instructions given by the announcer. If the correct caller meets the requirements set out in these official rules and/or on the specific contest page, they will be the winner of the prize. All winners will be notified. Grand Prize drawings are held at a later date once the contest is over, and Grand Prize winners are notified by telephone; if a winner cannot be reached after two attempts, or is found ineligible, an alternate winner may be selected. Any materials or information submitted by entrants become the property of CHYR-FM and will not be returned. Limit one entry per person unless otherwise indicated. All contests are void where prohibited or restricted by law.
Eligibility
All CHYR contests are open to legal residents of Ontario within the broadcast area of Mix 96.7, of any age, unless otherwise specified. Employees of Blackburn Media Inc. and their partners, parent companies, divisions, subsidiaries, affiliates, trustees and licensees are not eligible, nor are immediate family members of, or those living in the same household as, such employees (immediate family means spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, children). Those who have won any prize from any contest on our Blackburn Media Inc. radio stations within the last 30 days are ineligible; contests are limited to one winner per household per 30 days unless otherwise stated. Those who have won a 'major' or 'grand' prize (prizing at or exceeding $1,000.00 in retail value) within a 12-month period are ineligible for a 12-month period from the time of reaching that limit. Blackburn Media Inc. has sole discretion over any winner's eligibility and the right to reclaim any prize.
Winners / Prizes
The winner may not sell or otherwise trade the prize for any valuable consideration. By accepting a prize, the winner agrees to hold Blackburn Media Inc. and its directors, officers and employees harmless against any and all claims and liability arising from use of the prize. No transfer, cash redemption or prize substitution is allowed. CHYR reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. In the event a concert, performance or trip is cancelled due to uncontrollable circumstances, no prize will be awarded in its place. All applicable taxes, transportation, spending money and meals are the winner's sole responsibility unless otherwise stated. Winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release and to provide valid identification, or the prize may be forfeited. CHYR does not mail prizes; prizes must be picked up at the Windsor studio during regular business hours, coordinated by CHYR, and prizes not picked up within 30 days of availability are forfeited. Only one winner per household in any 30-day period across CHYR, CJWF/CJSP and CKUE. Decisions made by CHYR are final in all matters, including interpretation of these rules and awarding of the prize.
Odds of Winning
The odds of winning depend upon the number of entrants. Online streaming listeners may be disadvantaged in any contest that requires entrants to listen to the station, due to streaming delays.
General Provisions
Sponsors reserve the right to qualify listeners at their own discretion and are not responsible for a listener's inability to reach the stations due to service interruption, technical problems, equipment failure, or internet issues. All entries become the property of Sponsors and will not be returned. By entering, each listener consents to the use of his/her name, address, photograph, likeness, voice, recordings, comments and appearance at publicity events, in any media worldwide in perpetuity, without additional compensation, and waives any moral or copyright interest in such materials. By providing personal information, entrants consent to its collection and use for the purposes of the contests; Sponsors will not sell, share or disclose entrants' personal information to third parties other than those engaged to fulfill the contests or as permitted or required by law. Contests are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and Canada and are void where prohibited. Any attempt to deliberately damage the contest is a violation of criminal and civil law. Sponsors reserve the right to amend these rules at any time and to make amendments effective retroactively. Winners are solely responsible for all taxes, duties and other costs associated with winning. If the contest is not capable of running as planned, or its integrity is compromised, Sponsors may cancel, terminate, modify, amend, extend or suspend the contest. All decisions of the Sponsors are final and binding. Sponsors are not responsible for any damages, accidents, injuries or loss related to the conduct of the contest or the use of prizes, and make no representations or warranties as to the quality or fitness of any prize. In the event of any discrepancy between these rules and other contest materials, these rules prevail. All intellectual property is owned by the Sponsors and/or its affiliates. All entrants agree to abide and be bound by these Contest Rules and Regulations.
